Import Content Blocks

From Genesis Designer, you can automatically connect to a live exchange store that gives you access to an up-to-date library of Content Blocks. This Library Service is available for OneStream-hosted cloud environments. Enable Library Service to use this live exchange store. You do not need to download and import the Content Blocks. See Enable Library Service.

For self-hosted on-premises environments and for instances that have the Library Service turned off, follow these instructions to download and import Content Blocks from OneStream Solution Exchange.

There are security requirements to import Content Blocks. See Solution Administration.

  1. Go to OneStream Solution Exchange.

  2. Click Collections.

    In Solution Exchange, the menu at the top includes a house icon for the Home page and text for Platform, Solutions, and Collections pages. Collections is highlighted.

  3. In the Genesis tile, click the Learn More button.

    Genesis tile includes an icon of a pie chart, bar graph, and line graph and a description of Genesis. Learn More button in the lower right is a rectangle with a blue background and white text.

  4. On the Genesis page, under Kits & Content Blocks, download the Content Blocks either individually or as a bundle.

    • Click the Download button to download a Content Block individually.

    • Click Download Bundled Kits / Blocks to download a file that includes all Content Blocks. You must unzip this file before importing it.Kits and Content Blocks heading includes an icon of three back squares and a white diamond. A search bar is below the heading. Then, filters are below the search bar. There are filters for Platform Version, Content Type, Category, and Sort By. Then, a Clear Filters button, which is a black rectangle with white text, is to the right of the filters. To the right of the Clear Filters button is a link Download Bunded Kits / Blocks, which is blue text. This link is highlighted.

    TIP: To find a specific Content Block, use the search field and filters as needed.

  5. Log in to OneStream.

  6. Go to Genesis Designer > SettingsLibrary Management.

  7. Follow the instructions to import a library. See Import a Library.
